My school hosts an annual christmas sale (click for more info) each winter, and this December is no different. For the occasion, my class has printed a limited edition series of postcards consisting of 24 different cards which can be purchased this weekend in the Aalto University School of Art and Design in Arabia, Helsinki. Price: 1,50 euros/ card. Awesomeness: endless.
All of us have created three cards each and mine show the following:
-an epic dog
-a startled and depressed cat
-evil monkeys
The sale is open today (1 pm to 6 pm), Saturday and Sunday (9 am to 6 pm). I'll be sitting by our table selling tomorrow! Welcome!

these look amazing, and they must be just a tiny sample of all the greatness that will be on show. god it makes me want to book a flight over to helsinki IMMEDIATELY.
ReplyDeleteVoi eeeiiii... Keräilen valokuvakortteja ja tuolla olisi montakin aivan täydellistä kuvaa kokoelmaan. Koska olen jumissa Turussa, pitää varmaan yrittää värvätä joku helsinkiläinen kaveri ostopuuhiin.
ReplyDeletedang, wish i could go! that would make some awesomeness for postcard sending next year. sigh.
ReplyDeletehave a great time though! :)
Geneviéve, I went to take a look today after my lectures and there was so much good stuff for sale! Anything from independent comic books to really beautiful ceramics and fine art prints and posters and board games and jewellery... I'd like to get something as it supports the students, but I don't know what :O
Thank you i-d! Hope to sell a lot and not be bored...
WOW. :O It must be very inspiring to be surrounded by talented people? I wish to be artist/photographer some day, wish i was there...
ReplyDeleteThank you anonymous. It can be very inspiring to be among talented people but it can of course also be depressing (difficult to try to not compare oneself to others) and a source of rivalry - it really depends. But usually it is a great source for personal growth and fun and indeed inspiring to go to school and work creatively with people who all do different things and have different personalities.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your pursuit, I recommend just doing creative things that make you feel happy or that work in a cathartic way or are fun or feel important :) All the best to you and welcome to visit if you're in the area!
the students have even created board games?? that sounds wonderful! i hope you were able to pick something nice from all the good stuff :)
