My school hosts an annual christmas sale (click for more info) each winter, and this December is no different. For the occasion, my class has printed a limited edition series of postcards consisting of 24 different cards which can be purchased this weekend in the Aalto University School of Art and Design in Arabia, Helsinki. Price: 1,50 euros/ card. Awesomeness: endless.

All of us have created three cards each and mine show the following:
-an epic dog
-a startled and depressed cat
-evil monkeys

The sale is open today (1 pm to 6 pm), Saturday and Sunday (9 am to 6 pm). I'll be sitting by our table selling tomorrow! Welcome!

I've been a part of Vuu Collective, a bunch of young people doing contemporary art, for the last half year. Vuu is publishing a first book, Volume, this week and the launch party is on Saturday. The first issue of Trash Magazine, an annual magazine about sustainable design, was released a few weeks ago. I shot the cover and small fashion story for it back in July and was now, two months later, super surprised to find it the mag in the window of Akateeminen bookstore in the center of Helsinki!

Otso and Ulla right before sunrise in Karnataka, India. It's amazing to think that those boulders - which look like they would have been neatly arranged in piles by giants - have been created by millions and millions of years of erosion and that they belong to the oldest parts of earth. Majestical.

(I like to imagine there's a ufo hovering just outside the frame in the second picture.)

I'm back home in Finland after a month in my paternal home country Poland, with my Polish vocabulary once again a wee bit expanded (this happens with every visit). This photo is however not a picture of Polish soil, but rather Austrian, thanks to a flight change in Vienna. No matter how many times I fly I always get queasy in the plane, but it's worth it, just for the view.

Here's the catalog for the exhibition Visual Diaries/Girls curated by human dynamo Florencia Serrot who also has created this book, which is published by moser verlag (it can be ordered via their homepage!). Such an incredibly good book filled with absolutely fantastic photos by really good photographers - the cover photo taken by Madi Ju sets a pretty good example. Proud to be included and a bit stunned, too!

Getting on the bus from Udagamandalam in Tamil Nadu at 6.30 am in pitch black icy coldness, slowly descending the vertical 2400 metres down to sea level while the sun rises and starts to burn - sitting on the back seat by the door-less entry to the green bus watching people get on and off, the vehicle occasionally so packed people are almost hanging out the door, staring at the endless tea plantations covering the round hills like patched velvet, feeling grateful for sitting by the open window every time nausea kicks in, the bus slowly rolling down the steep steep roads lined with monkeys, the bus conductor's shrill whistle accompanied by car horns sounding constantly - wondering how it's possible to build roads along cliff walls like these... Arriving to the final stop along a huge hot dusty nameless street in Kozhikode seven hours after leaving Udagamandalam - 150 kilometers between the cities, that makes for a speed of 20 kilometers an hour.
